Peggy Whitson, The planets space woman

Peggy Whitson, an American biochemistry researcher, NASA astronaut, and former NASA Chief Astronaut became the oldest women ever to travel to outer space. Whitson is currently 57 years old and this is her third trip to the space. By April 24th Peggy Whitson will grab another record of the cumulative time spent in space by an American astronaut which is 534 cumulative days in space, held by NASA Astronaut Jeff Williams and it’s assumed to be unbreakable. She is also the first woman to command the International Space Station twice in 2008 and 2017. She is currently in space on her third long-duration space flight as part of the crew of Expedition 50, and will command Expedition 51. She holds the unique record of the most number of space walk by a female astronaut and this will be increasing until she return home aboard a Soyuz capsule with NASA’s Jack Fischer and Roscosmos’ Fyodor Yurchikhin in September.
