We know that Japan is known for its quality in advanced technology and when an international sporting event like Olympics is hosted by the city we can really expect for the ultimate use of that technology.
Recently they announced that the 2020 Olympics to be held at Tokyo, the capital of Japan will witness the most advanced use of technology in the history of the mega sporting event for the inaugural function to be held at National stadium, Tokyo on 24th July 2020. ‘Discover tomorrow ‘ which is the motto for the 2020 Olympics is what exactly going to be followed for the event as the technology of tomorrow will find its space in the inaugural function.
One among that is the plan to use flying cars to light up the Olympic flame as part of the inaugural function. Japan based automobile manufacturer Toyota will powering the flying car which are going to be used for the Olympics 2020 inaugural function.
Toyota is investing almost 2.5 crore INR for this project. The flying car is named as Sky Drive and Toyota will be sharing technology with Cartivator, a Japan based Automotive and aviation technology Startup Company. As of now they are working on the prototypes and by the end of 2018 sky drive will fly off the ground with passengers in it. The Sky drive will be powered by four sets of 
propellers.
The proposed sky Drive can fly at a speed of 100KM with an elevation of 10 meter and land speed of around 150 KMPH as per the reports Sky Drive might be even available in the nearest Toyota dealership by 2023 for sales to public.
The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is a major international multi-sport event due to be celebrated in the tradition of the Olympic Games as governed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).The games are planned to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Tokyo.
