For the last few weeks we are aware about the ordinance issued by the central government regarding the ban of animal slaughtering or Beef Ban in India which has created a social unrest among various sectors in society. The law was rejected by many state government like Kerala as it was implemented without their knowledge. On a deeper note the Government is actually not having a valuable point to support their decision, at the same time the people are having many reason against this new rule made by the government. Lets see few of them
India is the world’s second largest producer of footwear; its production estimated over 700 million pairs annually At about US $ 300 million per year, footwear accounts for 18 percent share of total exports of leather exports. If they are going to implement Beef Ban in India or stop animal slaughtering means then they will have to ban all the products created by harming them. Which means we all have to avoid the natural leather products and should use artificial plastic products in place of that which will cause more pollution in the country. And for a country which is run on Swatch Bharat scheme this is not really recommended.
Due to the effect of technological outcome and many “make in India” startups by the present government, lots of advanced technologies are available in India which replaced the use of cattle for agricultural or industrial purpose. The only purpose for which cattle’s are raised these days is for either meat or milk. And in case if you are prohibiting this then, there wont be no one to raise them which will eventually end up in their extinction.
As per the data from National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) round shows that around 80 million people, around 1 of every 13 Indians consume beef or buffalo meat. So the government have no right to implement Beef Ban in India which is popular form of food among its citizens nor they have the liberty to decide what the people should eat.
