Mixing her passion, Savitha Nambrath

Sound designing was not given a prominent role in the Indian movie industry until Resul Pookuty bought the Oscar to the subcontinent in the year 2009. Since then Sound engineering or sound designing became a celebrated field in movie industry and many more young people came forward and decided to make it as their career.
National award winning sound engineer Late Mr. H. Sridhar having pioneered the use of Digital Sound for Indian films in the DTS format has already set a strong basement for the future of sound engineering in India. Many talented sound technicians like Sreejesh Nair, K.J Singh, Ranganaath Ravee  are very few among them who expertised in the same and have won many awards and applauds for their impeccable contributions in the field of Sound engineering in both national and international movies.
Though there are a large number of talented sound engineers in India, the women power in this field is very limited and it’s in this context that Savitha Nambrath stands out from the crowd. Savitha Nambrath was born and bought up in Palakkad a place in Kerala. Later she migrated to Mumbai for doing her PhD in Geography from the Mumbai University. She completed her Masters in Applied Geography from University of Madras with Gold medal and first rank prior to her movement to Mumbai. Due to the influence from many of her room mates and friends in Mumbai she got fond of sound editing and she immersed herself deep into the world of sound setting aside her education and career in Geography.
