Your entry into music!
Music has always been a part of my life in some way or the other but I never thought that one day I will see my name as a playback singer or that I will be able to do shows anywhere ever. My entry into the Music industry came as a huge surprise. Music Director Shaan Rahman, or Shaanikka as we call him, rang me up one day and told me that he wants me to write a few lines in english for the remix version of the song “Aaranu Nee” in the movie “My Story”. Little did I know that I will also be singing those lines. Then the next song “Freak Penne” came very much as a surprise as well. The songs, the small shows I got to do, TV shows I was fortunate to perform on, nothing was planned. When I look I just feel extremely blessed that I even got to see and experience all this.
You don’t have any musical background nor you had any prior learning on that subject, but still you became a playback singer. How did that happened?
Like I said, it was not at all planned. But one thing I did was never give up on myself and I also made it a point to grab the opportunities that have come my way. Some have worked out well and some have not but I will not have to wonder “What if” some day. To call myself a playback singer is a very difficult thing for me. I feel like I am yet to earn that title. I have to work on myself and start studying music. Meeting and spending time with people from the Music industry has given me a whole new level of respect for each song I hear and every track I listen to. I am yet to earn a space there. It is a long way to go, let’s see where it goes. I am just excited.
