Omanathinkal Kidavo reinvented

Sending wishes poster in whatsapp and putting a Facebook status as “Happy Vishu to all” is what vishu is for the current generation. We are living in a fast-paced world where the 24 hours are not sufficient. None is bothered about these kind of Cultural festival at all. Even Kerala which is known as the Cultural paradiso in India, is slowly slipping into the ‘ I dont care’ mode. But dont we have the responsibility to teach or show our young generation about the value and importance of this festivals, family bonding, the feeling of togetherness. How we celebrated during our childhood? How things were then compared to now, stuffs like that. Dont we need our child to know that change which is happening now, so that atleast it will ring a bell of nostalgia in them.

Its under this context that the latest Music video by DJ Savyo and Siddharth Menon which throws light to all those nostalgic feelings and emotional bondings gains its relevance.

Omanathinkal Kidavo, a popular Malayalam lullaby composed by Irayimman Thambi on the birth of Maharajah Swathy Thirunal of Travancore has been given a different treatment of music by DJ Savyo without disturbing the mood of the song. Along with the electronic music some additional percussion by Prince Abraham and soothing vocals by Siddharth Menon gave it an out of the world feeling. Omanathinkal is the first independent outing from Siddharth, Since he left the Band Thaikudam Bridge few months back.
The video of the song was shot by Kasata Media at the beautiful Muttathilam in Kottayam district of Kerala and the rest at Kochi. The Video features Siddharth Menon and Devi Ajith in the lead role also features Thejus, Evin, Melna,Christine and Sivadas. Three year old Christine is actually the youngest of Savyo’s two children. The video moves along with the nostalgic thoughts about Siddarths childhood Vishu celebrations at his ancient house, Devi Ajith who is a prominent actress plays his mothers role in the video.

Both the video and song is really good example of present meeting past which leaves a message that, Nothing is lost if we are ready to look back at our past.
Savyo who has been into DJ industry for the past 24 years has indeed made a statement that DJ’s are not meant for just remixes but they can actually produce some incredible music.
