Robot, previously known as MOMO, is a restaurant in Chennai’s Old Mahabalipuram Road. Venkatesh Rajendran and Karthik Kannan are the people behind this Robot themed restaurant which is first of its kind in the entire country. The restaurant was recently launched with a surprise for all the food lovers who visited the restaurant. The food serving section is handled by robots that give the visitors a peek to the future of food and beverage industry. The restaurant has four robot waiters or servers, who bring food to the customers’ tables.
Customers can place their orders through phone tabs placed on every table. The order is then received at the kitchen and food is prepared by the chefs on duty. Once the ordered dishes are prepared, the robots pick them up from the kitchen, and deliver them to the customers at the table.
The robots are battery-operated, and actually function with the help of sensors on them so that they can track or identify if somebody is blocking their way.
